Understanding Traffic Sources, Devices, and Countries

Below your main metrics, the Analytics page breaks your traffic down by where it came from and who is visiting.

Traffic sources

Shows where your visits came from — automatically. HotiLINK recognizes major platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and more) directly from the visitor's browser, and also checks the destinations of the Links you've already added to your profile, so it can label a visit correctly with zero extra setup. Anything HotiLINK can't identify is grouped as Direct.

If you've enabled the Tracking Links Advanced Feature, exact vanity-link visits are shown by name too, and a Top Tracking Link metric appears at the top of the page in place of the automatic Top Traffic Source estimate. See the Tracking Links category to set these up.

Device breakdown

Shows the mobile-versus-desktop split of your visitors, so you know what kind of screen most of your audience is using.

Country breakdown

Shows a ranked list of the countries your visitors are located in, helpful for understanding whether your audience is local, national, or global.

Automatic vs. exact attribution

HotiLINK's automatic recognition is a best-effort estimate — accurate for identifying which platform, but it can't guarantee a visit came from one specific post or bio link versus another use of that same platform. If you need certainty — for example, comparing your Instagram bio link against a link in a specific caption — set up a separate Tracking Link for each one instead of relying on automatic recognition.
