Understanding Advanced Features: Tracking Links, Short Links, and AI Tools

HotiLINK keeps your dashboard simple by default. Four tools — Tracking Links, Short Links, AI Settings, and AI Reporting — are Advanced Features: powerful, but not something every account needs right away. On a new account none of them are enabled, and none of them show up in your sidebar until you turn them on.

Why they're off by default

Most people start on HotiLINK just to get a link-in-bio page live — one link, a handful of buttons, done. Tracking Links, Short Links, and the AI tools are genuinely useful once you're posting your link in several places or want deeper analytics, but they add extra menu items and setup steps that get in the way of that first-five-minutes experience. So they wait until you actually ask for them.

What each one unlocks

  • Tracking Links — vanity versions of your profile URL (like hotilink.com/you/go/instagram) that tell you exactly which platform sent a visitor. See the Tracking Links category.
  • Short Links — clean htlk.me links for any destination URL, with their own click tracking. See the Short Links category.
  • AI Settings — connect your own Claude, Gemini, or OpenAI account so HotiLINK can use it for AI-powered features.
  • AI Reporting — turns your analytics into a plain-language written summary, on demand or on a schedule. Requires AI Settings to be connected first.

How to turn one on

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Open the Advanced tab.
  3. Toggle on whichever feature(s) you want — each one is independent, so you can enable just Short Links without touching the others, for example.
  4. Click Save Changes. The corresponding sidebar item appears immediately.

Tip: if you set up a tracking link during your first-time setup tour, Tracking Links is turned on for you automatically — no separate trip to Settings needed.

Don't see something mentioned in this Help Center?

If an article mentions Tracking Links, Short Links, or an AI tool and you don't see it in your sidebar, this is why — enable it from Settings → Advanced and it will appear. Nothing about your account is broken; the feature is simply waiting for you to switch it on.

A note on plans

Advanced Features are not tied to your subscription — every plan, including Free, can enable all four. Your plan only affects how many short links and tracking links you can create once enabled (see Free vs. Pro vs. Agency: What's Included).
